5 Unexplored Places To Visit

You most likely know all the popular haunts by now, but if you’re in the mood for something new that’s away from the crowds, check out these five spots.

1. Kuring-Gai Chase Natural Park

You’ve probably heard the name a few times, but it’s perfect for a bit of quiet time. Drive up McCarrs Creek Road and pull over for a spontaneous bushwalk or, if the weather’s good, splash around under the waterfall and take in the serenity.

2. Wendy’s Secret Garden, Lavender Bay

If you’re looking for a romantic spot, this is it. Take a picnic and have a seat in this beautiful garden. With its cobblestone little staircases, interesting sculptures and a stunning view of the Harbour Bridge, you’ll be in the good books because this place is seriously underrated.

3. Queen’s Beach

Nestled away in Vaucluse between Rose Bay and Milk Beach, this beach is probably the exact opposite of busy spots like Bondi. Take the walk from Bayview Hill Road in Rose Bay to Nielsons Park or, even better, rent a canoe and paddle into the beach for a real entrance.

4. Uncle Ming’s - 55 York Street, Sydney

For a warm and friendly atmosphere - paired with delicious dumplings and an enormous range of Asian drinks and cocktails - Uncle Ming’s is the place to be.  It’s hidden in a basement next door to a suit shop, but even though it’s a bit tricky to find, it’s worth it once you’re there.

5. Bulletin Place Bar - 1st Floor, 10-14 Bulletin Place, Sydney

If you’re in need of a drink but can’t stand having to wait for 15 minutes at the bar, try this place hidden upstairs (just make sure you don’t accidentally go to the tattoo parlour next door!). The cocktails vary depending on what fruits are in season, so when you go there, don’t just have a beer or wine because these are something special and a must-try.
