Bars | Annandale Hotel Re-launch

The Dale Is Back!

The iconic Annandale Hotel has emerged from its hibernation better than ever.  The Dale has been notorious for its live music scene. The good news is that at the opening this week, Gossling kicked things off showed that tradition is well and truly alive! Sydney’s music fans were clearly excited, as the venue was packed with people eager to check out the new renovation since The Annandale closed in December last year.

The guys behind the renovation of the ‘Dale have thought of everything. The venue has three separate bars, a beautiful open kitchen, an outdoor deck area (perfect for a beer in the summer sun!) and, most importantly, a stage for live music.

Its nice to see that the Annandale Hotel hasn’t forgotten its roots and still has elements of its live rock history. Exposed brick, framed posters and photos of music legends and pinball machines are all part of the fit out  - achieving the tricky balance of maintaining its charm while also looking very slick and hip. The outdoor area is decked out with hanging plants and boasts a trendy wall made of recycled glass doors and windows.

As for the food, the canapés showcase the style of food to be expected from the Annandale Hotel, and it’s a pretty big step up from your regular pub food. Sliders, empanadas and duck pancakes are an indication of the multicultural influences and new spin on a pub menu. They’ve got breakfast lunch and dinner covered, as well. Waffles, half a chook and toasted sandwiches are all an option.

There’s a real buzz of excitement at the opening and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The new Annandale seems to be focused at a larger demographic with gigs lined up expanding from rock to blues and roots.  As Gossling brought the building back to life with her folk tunes, it’s easy to image the Annandale Hotel being enjoyed by music lovers and pub goers alike.
