Best Places To Eat When You Got The Munchies
Next time you’re stumbling home after a night out and your stomach starts to rumble, ditch Maccas and head to one of these places for your fix?
Harry’s Café de Wheels - Various locations
It’s home to Sydney’s best pie and it’s not hard to see why. Their classic tiger pie with mash, mushy peas and gravy bound to please but you can choose from a range of pies, hot dogs and pastries that are freshly baked every day. Plus, it’s been around since 1945 so you know they’re doing something right!
Lord of the Fries - George Street/Lee St, Haymarket
Being a vegetarian or vegan can be hard, especially when all your friends are chowing down on beef burgers. But the fries, burgers, hot dogs and onion rings at this ‘punny’ fast food joint are 100 per cent meat free and ethical, making it suitable for everyone. That way you can satisfy your cravings and make a slightly healthier choice.
Mr Crackles - Oxford Street, Darlinghurst
This hotspot on Oxford Street always manages to have a queue of hungry customers but it’s worth the wait. Grab one of their rolls, like the Crackles Classic with crisp skinned slow roast 5-spiced pork belly with Vietnamese salad for a burst of flavour. And although their pork is what makes them famous, their chilli cheese fries are just as delicious.
Frankie’s Pizza - Hunter Street, Sydney
At $6 a slice, you’d be a fool to turn a deal like this down. Choose from a range of delicious toppings from a classic Margherita to the fancier prawn and pesto pizza or go for the whole thing if you’re absolutely starving. Wash it down with one last beer and enjoy the live music before heading home at 3am when they close for the night.
Café Hernandez - Kings Cross Road, Potts Point
Although the coffee is their speciality, this 24-hour café has some hearty wraps and sandwiches to fill up on and some delicious sweet treats. It’s just $2 (yes, you read that correctly) for churros or you can try their Spanish rice pudding. Just make sure you’re not off your face when you go in, they won’t be too happy.
