Find your way to fun at Sydney Olympic Park

If you can read a map or solve problems on the run, then it's time to join the latest  craze to hit Sydney.

All you need is your smartphone to enjoy the new, free and permanent orienteering courses at beautiful Sydney Olympic Park.

The collection of courses – which can be done with a printed map or by smartphone app – is the culmination of 12 months of collaboration between Orienteering NSW and Sydney Olympic Park Authority. Funding for the project was provided by the Australian Sports Commission.

Available daily and at any time, participants have the choice of eight courses, all starting from WatervieW Café at Bicentennial Park.

The courses range from 1.8km to 5.1km, for beginners who may be interested in a leisurely walk or a hard course for those experienced orienteers who are up for a challenge.

There is no one size fits all approach at Sydney Olympic Park, the options to enjoy orienteering are broad and yours to decide!

“Orienteers come in all shapes, sizes and ages and generally have a great respect for and love of the environment and the outdoors. This permanent activity at Sydney Olympic Park will help to showcase our sport to a huge urban population,” said Orienteering NSW President, Greg Barbour.

"This is a terrific example of how we can use technology to get people out and about and leading active lifestyles. It’s an exciting addition to the many free activities families can take advantage of every day at Olympic Park," added Sydney Olympic Park Authority Chief Executive Officer, Charles Moore.
