Let's get Colourful before Mardi Gras with Fair Day 2018

Sydney’s Mardi Gras Fair Day, in partnership with ANZ, is the biggest, craziest, and most colourful event that is taking place before the opening weekend of Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2018!

On 18 February, Fair Day will return to Victoria Park in Camperdown for a fun day of entertainment and chilling out in the sun.

Over 70,000 happy people attend the fair each year, gathering together to celebrate the beginning of Mardi Gras and also the power and beauty of diversity.

“Mardi Gras Fair Day is a beloved free, fun day for LGBTQI people of all walks of life and their friends, families and fur babies. During our Mardi Gras 40th anniversary festival we’re thrilled to be back in Victoria Park where we predict Fair Day 2018 will attract record crowds. There’s more community stalls than ever before and a stellar day of entertainment on the main stage,” Said Mardi Gras CEO Terese Casu.

Over 250 stalls will be spread throughout the park and features the Sports Village, Doggywood, the ANZ Main Stage, and the new Tropicana Bar as well as food and bars for you to indulge in.

Some of the stalls to look out for include 78ers, Queer Screen, Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir, Dykes on Bikes, Gender Centre, Rainbow Families, Wett Ones Swimming Club, Sydney Roller Derby, Glitoris, Harbour City Bears, The Sydney Femme Guild, and the Australian Gay and Lesbian Archives.

Something that definitely stands out is the Game of Bones Dog Pageant as Sydneyside pooches battle it out for the titles of Best Dressed, Most Talented, and Best In Show.

Mardi Gras legends Bob Downe and Cindy Pastel will take over the proceedings as they host the afternoon program of cabaret including performances by Shauna Jensen, Mama Alto, Greg Gould, Bogan Villea and Miss First Nations winner Josie Baker.

The all-women line-up of live music will kick off in the late afternoon and we’ll hear from Kira Puru and Asta. Iconic DJ’s Sveta and Kate Monroe will then get everyone moving in the evening until the show closes at 8pm.
