Melbourne Cup is just around the corner and Sydney is really turning it on this year. There’s so many events, lunches and parties to keep you going all day.

Here’s our pick of the bunch, but be warned your Wednesday is going to be struggle town if you participate in Melbourne Cup activities (Do it).


Coogee Pavilion – Coogee

Coogee Pavilion are offering two fantastic experiences. Guests can sit down to an a la carte race day menu at Coogee Pavilion and enjoy a flute of Chandon on arrival BEACHSIDE for $100.

North Bondi Fish – Bondi

Enjoy Melbourne Cup beachside at North Bondi Fish with MC, TV celebrity Magdalena Roze. With live action from Flemington on the big screen, race sweeps and fashion on the field, North Bondi Fish is looking picture perfect for 4 November. $135 per person will see guests enjoy a special three-course shared lunch menu

Chiswick – Woollahra

Chiswick will again play host to one of Sydney’s favourite Melbourne Cup events. Hosted by Kerri-Anne Kennerly, guests are encouraged to dress to impress with fashions on the field and plenty of prizes to be won. $150pp, three-course shared lunch menu

Café Del Mar – Cockle Bay

One of the best rooftop bars you’ll find in Sydney. Café Del Mar will host two Melbourne Cup packages. The Terrace Party – Unlimited canapés & beverage package, inclusive of a Moët on arrival, $125.00. And the Restaurant Party – 3 course lunch, inclusive of a Möet on arrival, $125.00. Plus prizes for best dressed and live betting.

The Botanist – Neutral Bay

The Glenmore – The Rocks

The Glenmore will see race-lovers enjoy a lavish luncheon spread for $149 including shared entrees, choice of mains and a three-hour deluxe beverage package. TAB facilities will be open from 8am and there will be sweeps and prizes for best-dressed before live entertainment kicks off at 3.30pm.

Park Hyatt – The Rocks

Enjoy Melbourne Cup Day with lunch on the harbour. Views of the Opera House, live race coverage, exciting sweepstakes, best dressed prizes, champagne and fresh flavours of seasonal farm ingredients specially curated by executive chef Franck Detrait. Five-course lunch with a glass of Veuve Clicquot on arrival $185pp.

One of our favourite venues, The Beresford will have a no strings attached approach to Melbourne Cup. No bookings required here, but get in early as it’s sure to pack out.

Bishop Sessa - Surry Hills

Celebrate Melbourne Cup Day in Style at Bishop Sessa. From 11am to 5pm be treated with a 4 course lunch, includes beer, wine and live entertainment before watching the race that stops a nation $195pp.  Dinner voucher up for grabs for best dressed.

Mrs Sippy – Double Bay
