If you're anything like us here at OutInSydney and you love a to get your rock or gangster on, then don't look past the following gigs. There's some pretty big names passing through Sydney this month, so we thought we would share our picks of gigs not to miss.


Seekae

One of Australia’s most innovative electronic acts, Seekae, will be heading to Sydney in August to play songs from their new album The Worry. Moving fluidly between pounding bass and poignant melodies, Seekae are always electrifying. Their new album sees percussionist Alex Cameron on vocals for the first time, promising a different kind of live show for the band.

Queen & Adam Lambert

If iconic rock is more your style, don’t miss Queen performing in Sydney with Adam Lambert – the pair’s run of shows in the US garnered huge crowds and rave reviews. Adam Lambert is the perfect match for them, with his theatrical style and huge voice. Queen haven’t toured Australia since 1985. Be prepared for the arena to go crazy with classics like ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘We Are The Champions’.

Aston Shuffle

Another of Australia’s most versatile dance acts, Aston Shuffle will be bringing their signature electro pop to Sydney to promote new album Photographs. Expect bass heavy dance numbers combined with soulful vocals – plus a few surprises. The band have stunned crowds with performances of new single ‘Tear it Down’ so be prepared for a stellar live act and some shocks.

Uberfest Winter 2014

Uberfest canvasses pop, hip hop, metal, electronic and rock, showcasing some up and coming indie favourites. Sydney will see acts as diverse as Blessed & Buried, Field of Mars, Miracle Remedy, The High Collide and J L Rathbone. Playing for 10 hours straight, festival goers are in for a huge day of non-stop partying and music.

Bone Thugs N Harmony

For any hip hop enthusiasts, Bone Thugs N Harmony are an iconic group in the scene and they’ll be back in Australia again, after multiple recent sold out tours. The group have recorded and performed with hip hop legends like 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G and have retained their cult following, delighting fans with their particular brand of old school reggae and R&B infused hip hop. Plus, they are combining their performances with a search for the best un-signed Australian talent (from all genres) to sign to their label. For budding musicians this is one not to miss!
