New specialty coffee roasters open in Surry Hills

Specialty coffee roaster Veneziano Coffee Roasters has launched their newest café in Surry Hills.

With two existing and operating Veneziano cafes in Adelaide and Brisbane, Sydney becomes the third location of the successful specialty coffee roaster, with locations in Melbourne and Perth to follow.

Veneziano managing director Craig Dickson said the Sydney project has been in the works for a while.

“We want to bring our love of specialty coffee to Surry Hills and share our story and the stories of our growers and roasters with a community who appreciates coffee as much as we do,” Mr Dickson said.

Coffee Ambassador of Veneziano Coffee Roasters, and previous National Barista Champion and current Southern Region Barista Champion, Craig Simon said the specialty coffee industry in Sydney has “extraordinary momentum”.

Veneziano’s espresso bar will also feature a world-class training studio where they will run barista classes and special events to share knowledge and the love of coffee to coffee lovers and professionals alike. The barista courses are suitable for the beginner right through to the advanced professional.

The inspiration behind the Surry Hills fitout was all about making the coffee shine. The achieved minimalist aesthetic was a collaboration between Veneziano’s Melbourne and Sydney design teams.

The new Surry Hill’s café will offer takeaway or dine in coffee in Veneziano’s seasonal blend Bond St and boast a rotating selection of seasonal microlots.

The new café is open now from 7am at 352 Bourke Street, Surry Hills.

Founded in 2000, Veneziano Coffee Roasters operate out of Richmond, Victoria, roasting and supplying specialty coffee to cafes nationally.
