Style: Trend Alert | Overalls

With New York Fashion Week now well and truly wrapped, we can finally take a minute to look over what trends and styles were apparent on the runway. The Overalls trend was seen at numerous shows and was a big hit on the street style circuit, this trend of course is Overalls.

When you think about it, at one stage of our life (obviously when we were toddlers, for most of us anyway) we have worn overalls. The overall look has now come back in full force and is the new ‘It’ style. Seen on fashionistas the world over including Rihanna, Zoe Kravitz and Alexa Chung. One fashionista flying the overall flag is New York Fashion Blogger Leandra Medine from Themanrepeller.com who, aptly titled her new book ‘Seeking Love, Finding Overalls’.
 

The overall style traditionally made in denim, is now available in more modern styles like leather and cotton. To wear a more relaxed laid back fit choose a boyfriend overall fit and cuff the bottoms. If you wanted a more dressier sleeker vibe try a black leather overall with a nice simple heel. If you wanted a street everyday look try shorts overalls paired back with a pair of converse sneakers.
