Summer cocktails and where to get them

With another beautiful Sydney weekend just hours away, it’s time to celebrate – and what better way to cheers to the weekend than with an indulgent cocktail? OutInSydney has scoured the streets to find some of the most overdone and decadent mixes around town to but together this list of our top five and where to get them!

Espresso Zabaione at Eau De Vie, Darlinghurst

For those of you who love an espresso martini (let’s face it we all do) then the Espresso Zabaione from Eau De Vie is the cocktail for you! The drink mixes your choice of vodka, rum or whisky, stirred down with coffee and maple syrup. Layered on top is a saffron and vanilla mousse, super chilled with liquid nitrogen to create a frozen cap.

 

Fairy Floss Martini at L’il Darlin, Surry Hills

Nothing says ‘girls’ night out’ like a pretty pink drink with fairy floss cascading out of the glass. L’il Darlin’s Fairy Floss Martini mixes alcohol with one heck of a sugar-high by combining Swedish vodka, raspberry sorbet, cane sugar syrup and jeweled with fairy floss rose.

The Mar-tinny at Continental Deli

Open seven days a week, any time is the perfect time to drop into the Continental Deli for an inventive hipster take on the classic martini. The Mar-tinny is served in an old-fashioned tin complete with gin, vermouth and a dash of water, placed inside a chilled glass with a small dish of olives atop the tin! Refreshing and fun!

Bloody Hell at Bloody Mary’s Sydney, Darlinghurst

Whether you’ve had a rough night and need a hair-of-the-dog or have seen the above image and decided that this concoction is just too cool to pass up, then the Bloody Hell is for you! The drink mixes a traditional Bloody Mary with chili-infused vodka, served with celery, shrimp, beef slider and a buffalo wing.
