Sydney's Best Pepperoni Pizza

They say that sex is like pizza: even when it’s bad it’s still pretty good. Except we all know that bad pizza is less likely to leave you balled up at the base of your showerhead listening to Adele howl over the running water.

Pizza will never do you like that. There’s just something so uplifting about digging into an amazing slice dripping in cheese, backed up by the hearty kick of pepperoni. So here are five of the best places you can get a slice.

Thank me later… and make it cheesy.

Da Mario - Roseberry

It’s called the ‘Salamino’ on the menu, and you’ll surely be salivating when it’s placed in front of you. Your mouth will be loving you when it chows down on those crispy edges of spicy salami, cut with the creaminess of melted ricotta.

It’s gooey and soft, but crunchy with a charred thin base – basically, it’s ‘yum’.

Da Orazio Pizza & Porchetta - Bondi Beach

Here the 32cm pizzas are ‘shareable’, but really you and I both know that we could all slay one on a solo mission. Their pizzas are handmade and cooked in a roaring wood-fired brick oven, very Neapolitan like.

Their Pagnuttiello pizza sees a spicy-salami with black pepper meeting ricotta and fior di latte in a perfect marriage. Ain’t nobody got time to object to that.

Rosso Pomodoro - Balmain

Oh did you want a ‘Hawaiian’ style pizza? Maybe go somewhere else. At Rosso, it’s all Italian ‘errthang’. From the toppings, to the mozzarella, it’s an entirely authentic Italian experience. The pizza bases are crispy and just blistered enough, and they do an awesome Della Casa with hot salami, Italian sausage, baby spinach and parmesan.

Caffe Moretti - Leichardt

The Leichardt area is known for being the purveyor of amazing Italian fare, and Moretti is definitely no exception to that rule. They’ve been on the Norton Street strip for 17 years now, so you know that you’re getting a real community treasure here.

Their bases are impressively uniformly thin, and the toppings all really shine. The Jema in particular, which sees delicious chorizo sausage mingle with a heavenly Buffalo mozzarella.

Pizza BirraSurry Hills

This Surry Hills diner has become a real institution along Crown Street, even now it still manages to fill up every night of the week.

Their Pizza Birra pizza pairs salami with buffalo mozzarella, ricotta and parmesan; so if one cheese isn’t enough for you, then your mouth will surely love swimming in this luscious gooey heaven of a pizza.
