Sydney's Top Gin Bars

Gin bars are popping up all over this fine city of ours. We, over at OutInSydney, are getting very excited by the offerings, so we’ve pulled together a list of our top gin picks so you can get all excited too…cue Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg – Gin & Juice while reading this.

The Powder KegPotts Point

The Powder Keg is the most recent addition to Sydney’s gin-centric bar scene and one for lovers of all things Juniper. TPK is a combination of some of Australia most forward thinking and progressive hospitality minds. With the Cocktail List they aim to offer a selection of homemade house tavern specials, classic, modernized classics and progressive creations. With over 120 types of gin, 5 tonic waters and a selection of garnishes - TPK a modern and unique take on an olde Gin Palace. Not to mention this new fave of ours even serves gin and tonic on tap - London dry gin + lavender bitters + grapefruit bitters + fever tree tonic = DANG.

The Barber ShopSydney

Due to the growth of Gin in the bar scene of recent times the folks over at The Barbershop wanted to take their patrons back to where it all started by embracing the original Juniper Spirit – Genever. The House of Bols in Holland have given The Barber Shop the opportunity to showcase some of the most treasured and rare Genever’s. Not only does TBS have an extensive cocktail list to show off some of these fine gins but also they’re the first venue, globally, to have a Crawley’s Imperial Shaker – which some of your drinks may very well be made by. Aside from Genever’s there is an extremely impressive gin list that includes drops from all over the globe. The other cool thing about this venue is that is also doubles as an actual Barber Shop – deff one to check out!

Stillery Gin Bar - InterContinental Sydney Double Bay

Stillery Gin Bar in Double Bay is Sydney’s first concept gin bar. Located at The InterContinental Double Bay.  This gem is a great place to relax day or night and offers more than 60 local and international gins and a long list of cocktails infused with botanical ingredients.  As you would expect from the hotel chain and area, the décor is stunning. One to impress the ladies…cough cough!

The Rook - CBD, Sydney

Central Sydney bar The Rook is another haunt for lovers of Gin, especially when it comes to their many gin-orientated festivities thoughtout the year. Join The Rook as they celebrate Gin and Tonic Week with ‘7 Deadly Gins’ from April 6-11.

Finally - June 13 2015 is World Gin Day so be sure to check back here as we give you the DL on the best events around town!
