It is a truth universally acknowledged that Gelato Messina is the undisputed champion of gelato in Sydney. Practically everyone in the city has uploaded at least one picture of their cone or cup to Instagram and it’s not hard to see why. With all those creative and delicious flavours, the word must be spread!

Newtown & Rosebery

Cake lovers (i.e. everyone) should head to Newtown stat. Although this patisserie has an exciting range, including the awesome-sounding vegan chocolate popcorn one. The most popular one to upload and show off is the strawberry watermelon cake with rose scented cream. Yep, I’m there.

Chat Thai
Manly & Randwick

If you’ve ever been to one of these restaurants, good on you for booking in advance or waiting in line for an hour to get a table. This is not just your average Thai, and if you check out the pictures, you will see why people are prepared to wait an hour to get their hands on it.

The Soda Factory
Wentworth Avenue, Surry Hills

50s food, dancing and drinks have never looked so cool. This retro venue looks like the ideal place to meet up with friends for some $1 hot dogs and milkshakes or dance the night away with a cocktail in hand. Judging by the photos, their waffles look like a highlight.

Devon Café
76 Devonshire St, Surry Hills

Just by scrolling through, you can see why everyone wants to take a picture of their food. The fried chicken burger looks like it could cure a hangover with one bite and they’ve even made their toasties look glamorous by serving them with wild mushrooms and truffles.

Burgers in Sydney aren’t hard to find, but if you go here, you’re not going to be disappointed. The caption to nearly every picture with #churburger raves about how delicious they are, especially with a side order of regular/sweet potato fries. And - it has to be said - they have nice buns.
