Urban Purveyor Group to launch five Sydney restaurants in August

Urban Purveyor Group is bolstering its position as the country’s largest and fastest growing restaurant group with the rapid rollout of five new venues in Sydney in August.

The casual dining group is expanding to the bustling Westfield and World Square precincts in the CBD, bringing innovative and family friendly offerings to the fast-casual food market.

The group will bring three restaurants to Westfield Sydney: Fratelli Fresh; the first Fratelli Famous pizzeria spin-off of the much-loved Italian group, as well as one of three Saké Jr. restaurants that will open in Sydney and Melbourne in August.

The casual dining triumvirate will open on Level 5 of the shopping centre, bringing the first dual Fratelli offering to Sydney diners. Lovers of Italian cuisine will have options to dine in at Fratelli Fresh, or build their own gourmet takeaway pizza at the adjoining Fratelli Famous counter.

Fratelli Famous customers will choose from two sizes of pizza, personal and large, and three types of hand-stretched dough with thin, light and gluten free options available. Over 30 possible toppings will be available and a custom-made wood fire and gas combination oven will deliver first-class, pizzas in about 90 seconds. Signature pizzas, salads, house-made gelato and milkshakes will also be available.

The adjoining Fratelli Fresh will be the seventh in the fold, opening hot on the heels of the first Melbourne outpost at 7 Alfred Place, which is scheduled to launch in July. The Westfield venue will boast dining for close to 200 guests, including bar seating and counter dining overlooking the kitchen and pizza oven, and a private dining room. An Italian breakfast menu will be available and the restaurant will be open through to dinner, seven days a week.

Neighbouring Saké Jr., with bright splashes of yellow and black decor will cater to the busy and healthy lifestyles, offering Saké Restaurant & Bar classic dishes in a “grab and go”, as well as make your own noodle and rice bowls that showcase their signature flavours with a Korean twist. A range of cold press juices, smoothies, chilled teas and coffees will also be served.

Urban Purveyor Group will also bring fun-filled Italian and Bavarian dining to World Square in August. A second Fratelli Famous pizzeria will be accompanied by The Bavarian; a casual, counter service version of the Bavarian Bier Café that will offer a range of classics, burgers, fresh pretzels, hot dogs, salads and over 40 German and Australian beers and crafts.

The Bavarian and Fratelli Famous dual destination will feature a double shop front with bi-fold windows and doors, and a sizeable al fresco dining area complete with beer garden. The venue will appeal to city workers after a casual lunch or after work bite as well as those on a shopping expedition. Urban Purveyor Group Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Pash said August will mark a milestone for the group, with five new outlets opening within the month.

“We’re really looking forward to launching Fratelli Famous, Saké Jr and The Bavarian, which have been many months in the planning,” Mr Pash said. “Expanding in the fast-casual space via our already much-loved Fratelli Fresh and Saké restaurants and our popular Bavarian Bier Cafés and bringing new,

highly-scalable offshoots of these to the restaurant sector is a strategic imperative for the business as we look to double in size over the next two years.”

In addition to its Sydney expansions, Urban Purveyor Group will open three new venues in Melbourne over coming months. The Cut and Fratelli Fresh will move into The Alfred at 7 Alfred Place by the end of July. A Saké Jr. will open at 555 Bourke Street, and another at St Collins Lane shopping centre in August.
