Anason, Barangaroo

Enjoy a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner along the waterfront at Anason. Graze on modern Turkish starters including sesame simit with whipped kopanisti cheese; and Circassian chicken pate with crisp paprika pita. Then, move on the main event including duck borek with tkemali plum sauce; and lamb fillet with Jerusalem artichoke tarator. End on a sweet note with a special Valentine’s Turkish mess dessert.

Nel Restaurant, Sydney

If you’re looking to “wow” your date, celebrate Valentine’s Day with a playful British-inspired seven-course degustation at Nel in Surry Hills. Head chef Nelly Robinson draws on Australian produce and serves his take on bubble and squeak; the classic sausage roll; and fish and chips, just to name a few. Finish off the feast with rice pudding and trifle, the perfect end to a romantic night in the candlelit basement of Nel.

Efendy serves a four-course Turkish menu this Valentine’s Day. Indulge in dishes including mustard marinated kingfish; scallops with borlotti beans; and lamb shank with beetroot kisir. The restaurant also prepares a special dessert of chocolate, cardamom, Turkish coffee pralines and cherry clotted cream for the occasion.

Spoil your Valentine with lunch or dinner on the balcony overlooking Norton Street at The Royal in Leichhardt. For those dining upstairs, begin the night with a complimentary glass of G.H Mumm sparkling or tap beer on arrival. Don’t be tied down with a set menu, choose from the pub’s a la carte offerings such as crispy fish tacos with purple cabbage, miso ginger mayo and pineapple; and spanner crab pasta, medley tomato, chilli, garlic and parsley. The Tudor Hotel offers a special menu including a shared entrée and dessert for lovers this Valentine’s Day. Start with a grazing plate of charred corn, pork belly bites and rosemary beef skewers ($18) followed by a trio of house made strawberry, peach and mango sorbets ($12). Pair this with the Gin Basil Smash cocktail ($16): Hendricks gin with citrus and a huge helping of fresh basil, and you’ll have a night to remember.
