One of my favourite up-and-coming bands are back to give us a first taste of their new music this year and returning for a string of east coast tour dates which includes Sydney this weekend. Pushing out their new single Impact marks a bold step for this promising Brisbane outfit that continues to deliver their joyously loud indie nostalgic sounds with this new record. Peter, Bjorn and John

The effortless sounding pop trio behind the catchiest whistling tune of all time Young Folks, Peter Bjorn and John are back in the country for a Splendour side show to showcase their forthcoming LP Breakin’ Point. Released through their own label INGRID, this will be their first since their much acclaimed 2011 Gimme Some album. Like its predecessor, Breakin’ Point its sure to thrill fans filled with big, catchy pop tracks from the Swedish pop rockers.

The Cure

A band that needs no introduction, 80s rock stalwarts The Cure are returning to our shores for the first time in five years and we’re greeting them with open arms. Here as one of the biggest drawing cards of this years’ Splendour line-up, there are still great tickets available to catch this iconic British band that have influenced the masses for over three decades! Their two-hour set is expected to take a full look back at the band’s 37-year history playing the crowd favourites as well as a new stage production.

Jake Bugg

Another prodigiously British artist gracing our shores to compliment his Splendour appearances is the incredibly talented Jake Bugg. At the tender age of only 22 and already labelled the ‘Bob Dylan of our generation’, this young lad is no where near done with three studio albums already to his name, including On My One that was released last month. Teaming up alongside Manchester five-piece Blossoms. Catch them at the iconic State Theatre.
