Kingsley’s Australian Steakhouse

At the King Street end of Darling Harbour lives Kingsley’s Australian Steakhouse - one of Sydney finest. With meat sourced from some of the best pastures around Australia its easy taste why this joint is a local’s favorite.  The real reason it makes this list is because in October Kingsley’s hosts the world famous Game of T-Bones Challenge.  Devour the 1kg of quality cut and you will even get to take home a lame t-shirt.

Bridge St Garage

Bridge St Garage also offers an eating challenge, this time called the Tomahawk Challenge. The brainchild of Argentine-born chef Oscar Gorosito, the Bridge St Garage Bar & Diner provides a Latin American twist on an old favourite – the American-style bar and diner. The Tomohawk consists of a huge, slow-roasted, 1.5kg steak that's served with salad, green beans, onion rings, roasted carrots, and hand-cut potato chips. Due to the size, they highly recommend this meal is shared amongst friends and do request that people order at least 24 hours in advance.

Chophouse

The next Tomohawk Challenge comes to you thanks to Chop House on Bligh Street. Usually this beast is steak however you can also get pork rib tomahawks. The menu is designed by national Chef De Cuisine of Chophouse, Eric Tan. An entirely seasonal and produce driven menu, Chophouse will offer the best of Australian meat from the likes of the Riverine and Rangers Valley regions in NSW to WA from areas like Amelia Park and Mt Barker.

Prime at GPO Grand

Voted Sydney's Best Steak Restaurant for the past 14 years; Prime offers a first-class dining experience. With New York style interiors, heritage listed sandstone. Prime offers 18 premier steaks including Wagyu, Black Angus and Angus Hereford Yearlings ideal for steak lovers, but also offers a variety of seafood, poultry and vegetarian dishes if you’re looking for something different. Their biggest steak on offer is the T-Bone, Dry Aged (800g/500g), Yearling, 80-100 Days Grainfed and Angus-Hereford Cross.
