Café Ananas opens at Circular Quay

Ananas fans and aficionados do we have good news for you! Café Ananas has opened at Circular Quay, so you no longer have to wait for Ananas Darling Harbour to open this September to get your French brasserie fix.

Café Ananas will replace sister restaurant Café Nice at 2 Phillip Street. Customers are already enjoying the new menu, which is inspired by the original Ananas Bar & Brasserie at The Rocks (which is relocating to Darling Harbour) and includes some favourites from Café Nice.

Boasting a light and spacious interior, views of the Harbour Bridge and bustling quay, and just a short walk from the Opera House, Café Ananas will offer a prix-fixe lunch menu of three courses for $45, as well as pre-theatre dining options. Café Ananas will also see the return of Ananas’ famous long Sunday Champagne brunch.

A decadent dessert menu will feature the stunning Opera Moderne, a classic layered coffee cake with chocolate hazelnut ice cream, to honour the close proximity to the Opera House and to tempt pre and post- theatre diners. Other desserts include Le Chocolat featuring tonka bean ganache and caramel crémeux and tarte tatin.

Located in the historic end of Sydney’s central business district, amongst a hubbub of wine bars, pubs and watering holes, Café Ananas will offer an exciting drinks menu and extensive cocktail list, and will retain the existing, exceptional wine offering. Opening hours have been extended to include lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Café Ananas is perfectly situated to enjoy a pre or post-Vivid dining experience during the Vivid Sydney festival from Friday, 27 May to Saturday, 18 June. Book now to secure a table, or reserve the private dining room, which caters to groups of 10-25 guests. For bookings call 02 8248 9600.

In addition to Café Ananas, the original Ananas brasserie will relocate to Darling Harbour in September to coincide with the launch of the new International Convention Centre Sydney. Located close to the entrance of ICC Sydney, the comfortably-chic French brasserie will feature indoor and alfresco dining, a wine and Champagne garden bar catering to over 150 guests, an oyster bar, and a bakery.
