HotDocs at Palace Cinema

The renowned Canadian documentary film festival is coming to Palace Verona. This is the first edition of the festival at Palace Verona and will bring 24 inspiring and thought-provoking films from 15 countries to Sydney!

Curated by artistic director Richard Moore, hotDocs will bring the best documentary films from all over the world for the Australian premiere at Palace Cinemas from 14 June to 3 July 2016.

With films that cover a wide range of topics, hotDocs at Palace Verona is a festival for the curious mind, screening critically acclaimed hard-to-catch films and festival hits as well as promoting Q&As with filmmakers and special events.

On Thanksgiving Day 2012, American photojournalist James "Jim" Foley was kidnapped in Syria, two years before the infamous video of his public execution introduced much of the world to ISIS. JIM: THE JAMES FOLEY STORY, directed by close childhood friend Brian Oakes, tells the story of Jim’s life through intimate interviews with his family, friends and fellow journalists.
