A white night: Le Dîner en Blanc

On November 19, Sydney’s best kept “secret”, Le Dîner en Blanc, returns to take over one of Sydney’s most stunning public spaces.

This year the elegant affair is celebrating its fifth anniversary and is set to do it in style, with more guests than ever before, show-stopping entertainment and stunning views – all at an undisclosed surprise location yet to be named!

Le Dîner en Blanc has grown a mass following within the fashion, food, social and cultural communities, attracting designers, actors, models, media and a myriad of Sydney personalities. This year, over 4500 guests will have the chance to don their most glamourous white outfits and join in the exclusive affair.

Last year’s event took place at the picturesque Sydney Opera House, offering over 4000 white-clad guests the enviable view of the iconic Harbour Bridge and surrounding shoreline.

Staying true to its roots, the nearly 30-year-old event, promotes friendship, elegance and conviviality. In 2016 it is held in over 70 cities and more than 25 countries around the world.

The evening is known for its traditions and is filled with visually stunning moments including the waving of white napkins to mark the beginning of the dinner, and the lighting of sparklers to let guests know they are now free to mingle and dance.

Le Dîner en Blanc Sydney host, Antoine Bessis, says that the fifth anniversary is an incredible milestone to achieve for Sydney.

“It has been a pleasure to bring Le Dîner en Blanc to this fabulous city and see it grow in popularity year on year,” she says.

“We are grateful to all of our guests for coming back each year to enjoy the spectacle and continue to make it a success. It’s a true testament to the beauty and culture which Sydney has to offer, allowing us to dine in some of the most stunning outdoor spaces and iconic locations.”
